Referring Physicians & Providers

Hello! We are so glad you have reached out! PearceMD is now accepting new patients, and Gillian Croteau, PA-C and Dr. Pearce are happy to see new and former patients. 

 

A formal referral is NOT required, but is helpful to have the patient's contact and clinical

information to expedite care.

As a value-based, not volume-based practice, we know you have made the right choice for your patients!

To that end, as a smaller practice, please be aware of the following items:

  • Dr. Pearce and Gillian work together as a team and co-manage patients. Their number one goal is timely patient care so depending on a number of factors, patients may see one or the other, often both, and can be assured their care is closely communicated.

  • Every referral and self-referral is reviewed by our team to ensure an appropriate clinical and timely placement and this can take 1-2 business days. If you have a GENERAL ENT/REFERRAL question, please fill out this form. 

  • In the rare event we are unable to see a new patient due to complexity and/or emergent nature of care needed, this will be communicated to the referral source.

  • We are IN-NETWORK with the following insurance carriers:

    • Aetna (this include Meritain Health)

    • Taro (now called Mending) Health

    • Maine Community Health Options

    • Traditional Medicare

    • Aetna Medicare Advantage

  • We are Out-of-Network with any insurance carrier not listed above, including all other commercial Medicare Advantage plans

    • For cash-pay and Out-of-Network patients, we offer transparent cash-pay prices

    • We do not file these insurance claims, but can happily provide a receipt and itemized Superbill (CPT codes, NPI info, etc) for any patient wishing to file their own claim to towards their Out-Of-Network benefits

    • It is the responsibility of the patient to understand their health insurance policy, including, if their insurance is in-network with our providers, have a co-pay, deductible, or require a referral. 

3 EASY STEPS TO SEND A REFERRAL:


1. FAX the referral to 207-514-8213

  • Mark as "URGENTif patient should be seen within a week

2. Please inform patient: PearceMD will call you within 1-2 days to schedule you with either Gillian the Physician Assistant, or Dr. Pearce, depending on a number of factors.

  • While waiting, patients are welcome to call the office or reach out through our Contact Form

 

3. Please inform patientPearceMD is selectively In-Network with a few insurance carriers, but is out of network with others. We are currently In-Network with Traditional Medicare, Aetna, Aetna Medicare Advantage, Taro (now Mending) Health, and Maine Community Health Options. 

  • We offer transparent cash-pay pricing for out of network patients

  • The office will discuss the benefits of Direct Specialty Care, pricing, and reimbursement options when patient is contacted

  • Patients are seen for 30-50 minute appointments and can often get in next day
